Registered Nurse- Assistant Chief- Performance and Quality

Works closely with the Chief of the Office of Performance and Quality, all levels of staff within the organization, and patients, family members, and visitors in coordinating compliance with external and internal accrediting bodies, clinical practice guidelines, policies and procedures, and performance improvement measures and goals. Promotes a culture of safety, collaboration, cooperation, and understanding across the facility while serving as an advisor/consultant to services/departments on policies and issues related to quality management programs. The incumbent is an expert registered nurse, who can function as an administrator, educator, and consultant when necessary. Responsible for providing clinical and administrative recommendations relative to quality assessment and performance improvement functions. Knowledgeable of all programs under the quality management umbrella (accreditation, infection prevention and control, occupational safety, emergency management, green environmental management systems, risk management, data management/performance measures, utilization, patient safety, Veteran experience, and systems redesign/continuous process improvement). Contributes to departmental and/or facility policy development, planning, and evaluation that affect the delivery and quality of care provided. Collaborates with others to promote quality, consistency, and improvement in performance. Serves as a resource for clinical and ethical issues. Work Schedule:

Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant:
The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. OR The completion of coursework equivalent to a nursing degree in a MSN Bridge Program that qualifies for professional nursing registration constitutes the completion of an approved course of study of professional nursing. Students should submit the certificate of professional nursing to sit for the NCLEX to the VA along with a copy of the MSN transcript. (Reference VA Handbook 5005, Appendix G6) OR In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of a current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement for graduation from an approved school of professional nursing. Experience:
Master's degree. At least five years of health care quality management experience in accreditation, infection prevention and control, occupational safety, emergency and/or risk management, and performance improvement; at least two years involved the direct supervision of professional quality personnel. Competent to lead interdisciplinary teams in the assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of facility-wide quality management activities using data-driven, evidence-based approaches to improve outcomes, processes, and compliance with applicable policies, standards, and regulatory requirements. The following criteria must be met in determining the grade assignment of candidates, and if appropriate, the level within a grade:
Nurse I Level I - An Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing, with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse I Level II - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 1 year of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a bachelor's degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience; OR a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) with no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse I Level III - An ADN or Diploma in Nursing and approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR an ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a BSN with approximately 1-2 years of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing (MSN) or related field with a BSN and no additional nursing practice/experience. Nurse II - A BSN with approximately 2-3 years of nursing practice/experience; OR ADN or Diploma in Nursing and a Bachelor's degree in a related field and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Master's degree in nursing or related field with a BSN and approximately 1-2 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree in nursing or meets basic requirements for appointment and has doctoral degree in a related field with no additional nursing practice/experience required. Nurse III - Master's degree in nursing or related field with BSN and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience; OR a Doctoral degree and approximately 2-3 year's of nursing practice/experience. Position requires visual acuity, keen hearing, clear distinctive speech, and manual dexterity. Position requires a combination of walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, pulling, and pushing with potentially long periods of sitting. Transferring patients and objects may occasionally be required. Incumbent may be exposed to infected patients and contaminated materials and may be required to don protective clothing in isolation situations or during patient procedures and care. Incumbent may occasionally be exposed to patients who are combative secondary to delirium, dementia, or psychiatric disorders. Use of fingers, both hands, and near and far vision is required.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
