A growing, well managed and successful corporation producing precision machined components is searching for a Quality Manager. They recently reassigned a valued associate to another key role. This corporation has many long term team members. Many have been with the company for 15 plus years. They have good benefits, low cost healthcare and 401K with a company match. The Quality Manager is part of the core management team continuing to lead the corporation in their success.
The Quality Manager coordinates, guides and directs the quality team and quality management system to ensure the production of quality components, customer requirements and TS-16949 standards. This position develops and analyzes statistical data ensuring defect free products from raw material to customer shipment. The Quality Manager drives continuous improvements of the QSM, processes, procedures and systems as the corporate TS16949 quality management representative. Interested candidates will need strong planning skills, ability to coordinate teams, define problems, resolve problems, analyze data and improve systems. Past experience leading and guiding quality engineers, technicians and inspectors is needed. Strong Gd&T and metrology skills are needed. The Quality Manager will formulate strategies to enhance quality performance and objectives throughout the corporation. Interaction with the management team, production and engineering to communicate changes, improvements, concerns and manufacturing quality issues. The Quality Manager plans and directs internal, third party and surveillance audits to ensure quality standards and TS-16949 compliance. Past experience preparing, reviewing and training associates in APQP documents including FMEA, PPAP, control plans, standards work and corrective actions is required. Candidates with a basic understanding or exposure to production machining processes are strongly preferred. Knowledge of advanced problem solving techniques and statistical tools is also strongly preferred.
MUST HAVE: a Bachelors degree or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of quality management experience, strong planning leadership and problem solving skills. Knowledge of TS-16949, APQP, statistics, quality standards and problem solving techniques is needed. Experience reviewing prints, Gd&T, and development of quality controls is also needed. The ideal candidate will have work experience in a machining or metals fabrication environment.
