Essential Functions/
Responsibilities:
Manager is keying in on Systems Engineering Experience
Define requirements and interfaces for HMI and Train Control systems for the locomotive
Design, integrate, implement and validate Train Control subsystem functions, Human Machine Interface for locomotive, suitable for application in both English and non-English speaking environments
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
Lead/Support investigation, root-cause identification, and resolution of reliability issues.
Interact with internal and external customers, vendors, and industry agencies
Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project
Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues
Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
Qualification / Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering
At least 3 year of experience in an engineering position
Experience with serial and/or Ethernet communication
Experience in human factors, simulating or implementing Human Machine Interfaces
Ability and willingness to work hands-on in test labs and on locomotives with high (1000 KVA), medium voltage (2 KV) and high current (10 KA) systems
Desired:
Experience with system and component level validation testing
Experience with transportation/locomotive systems, control, diagnostics, design and test
Experience with Human Machine Interface and human factors analysis for embedded systems
Experience with Design For Six Sigma (DFSS) tools, FMEA
