Behavioral Health Therapist (Safe Harbor)

UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Safe Harbor has committed to providing quality mental health care since 1993. Our team offers a range of services to support both adult and child populations in our community. Every month we provide services to our patients in crisis at our outpatient and satellite locations. Through strong clinical and fiscal management, UPMC Safe Harbor designs and sustains innovative and creative mental health care.
The Behavioral Health Therapist will provide clinical treatment services to targeted populations. This is an outpatient treatment program designed to service individuals with various mental health diagnoses who meet dimensions for outpatient and/or partial hospitalization treatment criteria.
The Behavioral Health Therapist will have the potential to deliver co-located behavioral health care that includes providing outpatient therapy services to clients in medical office and/or school settings throughout Erie County. Responsibilities will include collaboration with medical office/school personnel, completion of intakes, and executing treatment plans and counseling to our patient population. Additional responsibilities will include coordinating with referral sources to better meet the need of patients, such as PCP's, PAs, and nursing staff.
Supervision and training are provided weekly in a group/individual setting to meet the requirements for licensure for LCSW and LPC certifications.
We are looking for Behavioral Health Therapists I (non-licensed) & Behavioral Health Therapists II (licensed).
The starting rate for the _Behavioral Health Therapist I_ begins at $22.60, and $24.48 for the _Behavioral Health Therapist II_ . Compensation is commensurate with experience and licensure status.

Responsibilities:


Provides individual, family, couples, and group therapy services utilizing several evidence-based therapeutic approaches.

Provides education to patients on recovery.

Participates in the quality assurance and performance improvement activities of the program.

Completes clinical documentation on the same day of service delivery and provides clinical information to patient access representative personnel and insurance providers to ensure authorization for services.

Reviews cases and/or groups periodically, as well as the serious clinical patient condition changes with supervisor and other clinical personnel as indicated.

Assesses changing needs of patients per guidelines for outpatient and/or partial hospitalization programs, and incorporates these into treatment plan and treatment plan review.

Under direct supervision, conducts assessments of new patients using the identified format for documentation and clinical decisions regarding treatment, interventions, and referrals, as instructed. Implements improves and adapts concepts, models, and constructs of treatment for application in service delivery to patients.

Documents all assessments, treatment sessions, contacts, case management, and other work done on behalf of patients according to guidelines.

Discusses the need for additional services with the clinical team to determine the appropriateness of recommendations. Refers patients to other levels of care, community-based self-help programs for recovery, or other community social or human services as needed.
Behavioral Health Therapist I:


Master's degree in psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education in school counseling, or related field required. (Successfully completed the educational requirements as defined in PA code Chapter 49.1/49.2, 2)

One year of clinical experience preferred.

Knowledge of psychiatric evaluation and assessment process, as well as application of a current version of the DSM preferred.

Experience in diagnosing and treating behavioral and psychiatric conditions preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

Passed the examination required by 49.11 relating to licensure examination. Must sign a license agreement and be actively working to obtain the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW), or Licensed Family Marriage Therapist (LMFT) within 30 months of hire.

Behavioral Health Therapist II:


Master's degree in psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education in school counseling, or related field required.

Two years of clinical experience diagnosing and treating behavioral and psychiatric conditions required.

Knowledge of psychiatric evaluation and assessment process, as well as application of a current version of the DSM required.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.

Clinical Social Worker (CSW) OR Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist OR Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC) - required within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.
