Responsible for managing resources, inventory, and equipment involved in the shipping and receiving of products and to create a seamless flow between the processing of the orders and final processing of paperwork to ship the product to the customer.
The employee will work with shipping carriers to maintain pricing and delivery processes and ensure they handle paperwork and shipping requirements in accordance to freight rules and regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Determines the required and/or appropriate method of shipment and arranges pickup with required carriers.
Prepares and packages items for shipment using the appropriate packaging, labels, bills of lading, and required product information (product manuals, test reports).
Verifies that required licenses are in place for all required international shipments.
Files with needed government agencies for all required international shipments.
Ensures that all shipments comply with all required regulations for international shipments.
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
Checks items to be shipped against work orders to verify quantities, destination, and routing are correct.
Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies, and works with purchasing to ensure that materials are re-ordered with sufficient time to prevent outages.
Initiates invoice process for items shipped.
May interface with accounting system or user other method of notification.
Operates fork lift or uses pallet-jack to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.

Experience:

years work experience in shipping/receiving.
Two or more years of experience using a personal computer with demonstrated intermediate proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation software programs and knowledge of web based applications.
Associates degree preferred but not required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize multiple work assignments; function from broad sets of work instructions, and communicate with all organization levels.
Excellent phone and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Solid Microsoft Word and Excel skills - Excellent overall computer skills.
