The Electronics Category Buyer position is responsible for Purchasing/Sourcing goods and services as assigned, and ensuring that quality, cost effective products are delivered in a timely manner. Executes procurement strategies for Measurement Solutions globally. Responsible for up to $20 million in Purchasing/Sourcing engineered to order electronic components and assemblies. Job description Requires experience in purchasing/sourcing engineered to order electronic components, services, or assemblies such as PC boards, transducers, transmitters, card readers, cables, electronic assemblies, and other programmable electronics. Requires familiarity with manufacturing of electronic products and processes such as resistors, KDC, RTDI, CRI, CRO, EAAI, BSE, etc. Evaluates RFQ's (Request for Quote), negotiates price, quality and delivery, selects supplier and places purchase orders while assuring compliance to Erie, Germany, Houston and Corporate Operating Procedures, Ethical Code of Conduct, etc. Places and maintains orders for Erie, PA and Germany's high-volume manufacturing sites. Manages project milestones and monitors delivery of items by contacting suppliers and freight forwarder to ensure that product and equipment are forwarded on specified shipping date. Provides technical and quality support for suppliers and communicates with Quality and Engineering departments to overcome obstacles. As SAP Superuser he or she would assist other staff members with technical clarification related activities, provide buyer training to new personnel, and perform SAP testing as assigned. Develops and maintains supplier relationships on an on-going basis. Tracks and evaluates supplier performance. Manages supplier quality as it relates to their assigned projects. Identifies and realizes cost savings opportunities to achieve yearly cost reduction targets. Identifies and qualifies new suppliers and/or subcontractors pursuant to Global Operating Procedures. Assists in negotiating contracts with suppliers and/or subcontractors to minimize the liability of TechnipFMC. Develop/Implement a global strategy for electronics to remove duplicate regional structures. Maintains compliance with Global Measurement Solution guidelines. May assist Procurement Manager as requested in the development and execution of sourcing strategies. Must have ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently with minimal direction. Creates, modified, and closes purchase orders to meet project schedules. Ensures payment of suppliers is completed on sourcing projects to maintain proper supplier relations. Demonstrated experience in developing international suppliers in low cost regions such as India and China. You are meant for this job if B.A. or B.S. in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or related degree in Quality or Engineering field. Strong technical electronic component and/or assembly supply chain/engineering experience required, with the ability to read prints and understand functionality and application of components. Requires experience in purchasing engineered to order electronic components, services, or assemblies such as PC boards, transducers, transmitters, card readers, cables, electronic assemblies, and other programmable electronics Requires familiarity with manufacturing of electronic products and processes such as resistors, KDC, RTDI, CRI, CRO, EAAI, BSE, etc. Minimum of 7
years professional experience applying broad knowledge of principles and practices of industrial manufacturing, purchasing, sourcing, or materials management. Proven experience in supply chain management, supplier quality systems and sourcing strategy. Experience interpreting demand and placing/maintaining purchase orders for multiple high-volume manufacturing sites simultaneously. SAP Superuser experience within planning or procurement, typically 5-10 years. Proven ability of managing projects to required standards. Must have TechnipFMC or similar product knowledge. Must have a good understanding of electronics, raw materials, machining and manufacturing processes. Must demonstrate strong negotiation skills, planning skills and strong interpersonal skills to interact with suppliers and co-workers in a team-based environment. Must have ability to handle multiple tasks, using ingenuity to solve problems, in a high-volume environment under remote supervision. PC skills including Microsoft, SAP, or similar software experience preferred. Advanced software training, Product Training, Quality Training, print reading, negotiation skills, and systems training (SAP, Ariba, Teamcenter, etc.). May perform more advanced functions as part of training and development.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
